Supporting neurodiversity and mental health
Personality types, neurotypes and mental health are an important consideration in equality, diversity and inclusion. Individuals may experience short-term issues or long-term conditions that affect their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Mental health and neurological conditions may be protected under the Equality Act as disabilities. It depends on the individual condition, the severity of impact on their life, and how long the condition will last. The individual may not consider themselves to be disabled, but the law may consider them to be if their condition is long-term and likely to get worse, for example.
